my methadone?
The Dr I get my methadone from told me the hospital is responsible for giving me my dose while I'm there. But... I get two wks worth of take homes at a time, and the hospital said I should just bring my meth with me.
Then to top it off, the surgeon suggested to the meth clinic, that they should handle my pain management after the surgery. Needless to say, the clinic wants nothing to do with it.
I am scared to death that I am going to be left in pain and in withdrawal.

Has anyone been through this before?

I don't blame you, and I wouldn't submit to the surgery until you get them pinned down regarding your analgesia and hopefully in writing, it should be the hospitals responsibility, and it doesn't seem right to me for you to have to bring your own pain medication. Perhaps you should speak to the anesthesiologist. They have to have protocol for this, find out what it is, and who's in charge of it. Have a backup plan, like someone to bring you yours meth just in case.

the methadone clinic is in no way a pain management clinic. of course they wanted nothing to do with it. what is wrong with those doctors? i'd tell them i was going to another hospital for the surgery if that's how they want to be.

Who told you that at the hospital? You have a potential law suit. The hospital is responsible for providing you with your medication and controlling your pain. It is crazy that they told you to bring your meds. I believe by law hospitals cannot allow you to bring your own meds or they have to take responsbility for dispensing them to you. Call the AMA and report those idiots. Go over the persons head who told you such silliness. File a grivance against that individual. Don't take this laying down (excuse the pun). Are you going to a Pain Management facility or a Methodone clinic? That makes all the difference. It seems that everyone is trying to cover their own you know what. How about the person, I guess it dosn't matter what you are going through. Again, what idiots.
