hopeful, DO NOT GO OFF KLONOPIN SUDDENLY, it is dangerous, especially if you've been on a long time. i also wouldn't immediately stop celexa. listen, you don't have to do everything all at once. getting clean is a process and it's normal to have lots of cr*& to deal with b/c you're facing the wreckage you created while you were using. it's ok, just do one thing at a time, then the next. set realistic goals, talk to your sponsor about them. are you sharing in meetings? b/c if you shared this stuff, lots of folks would say the same things i'm saying to you. you need to TALK and put yourself out there. just showing up is good but it won't get you the peace your'e seeking. i hate the expression don't be so hard on yourself but this is one of those instances when it applies--rome wasn't built in a day. for god's sake, CALL YOUR DOCTOR and tell him what you're doing with those meds. make a plan with him if you want to get off but i really would wait till you have just a little bit more time sober. keep in touch please!

Tammy, when your body is used to meds like that, the removal, even after it seems withdrawals are over, can cause other medical problems, simply because your body was used to those substance being there. It takes quite awhile for your body to rebalance itself to function without those added substances.

An example would be someone who stops antidepressants after being on them for years. Their body is so used to that help, that even after they are feeling better, with no more withdrawals, there is still a chemical imbalance caused from the bodies previous reliance on those meds. Now their body, in a way, has to recalibrate itself, on how to produce necessary substances, such as Seratonin, without outside assistance from the pills the person was taking.

It is kind of like a computer that has a virus, or a different operating system, and you suddenly make changes, and then have to reboot your hard drive, it takes awhile to fire back up, and sometimes can be missing necessary systems files, so more work has to be done before normal functioning can be achieved again.

So don't feel bad, you will get there, you just have to be willing to take it slow, and be prepared for set backs.

My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~
