I had 2mgs of Sub. on Saturday. I threw up last night..have had the chills and sweats since Sunday...and I am craving BAD...BAD BAD...I thought I have had the flu because I didn't think the sub was affecting me that much 2-6 mgs a day maybe 8mgs a couple of times for a couple of months. My family thinks I am just sick..AGAIN.
Robert...I can get 30 pills of 2mgs of suboxone...can I do this with that amount?
Am I having sub. withdrawals? Was it helping with the cravings more than I thought? I still craved but I am ready to steal right now that's how awful I feel.

You need more than 30 2mg pills if you are going to do this. You can't jump around from 2-6mg a day. You are just staying in a constant state of w/d all the time. It's no wonder you feel like you do. They are treating you like a piece of $$$hit. It makes me mad.

You've got to be on a stable dose, the same amount every day and the correct amount. I wish we could get 30 8mg pills and the ability to do a couple refills. That would do it. I could get you past this whole thing. Lay the charm on this guy. Talk him into giving you enough to help you. I can't make it work for you if they won't give you enough to do the trick. It's their fault, not yours or mine or the suboxone's fault.

When you were on the suboxone ... if you had been at the correct dose you would have felt wonderful. No cravings at all, no nothing. You can read on the forum some others who are doing it now. They are ALL doing great. No one is having any problems at all. I guarantee you this dr is totally jacking you around and doing this whole thing to you. I know that I am right. It's no wonder you feel like stealing. I am surprised you don't feel like murder as in killing this freakin dr who is treating you so badly. It's still making me mad.

I just don't know what to do anymore. I have two docs one that will give me hydro everyday for the wrong reasons no matter how many times I " f " up and one that doesn't seem to think I even have a problem. It is my fault for not being strong enough mentally. Those awful feelings have to go away or at least get better over months...

I couldn't possibly agree with your entire reply any more than I do. You definitely need a new dr. It's so strange. Most drs try to give patients 2 or 3 times as much as they need. they over-prescribe the suboxone. Your dr won't even give you enough to work. I don't understand, but I would not continue seeing this flake. If you want to get the pills that you mentioned you can do that and we can go ahead and get you started. Then you could make an appt as soon as possible with another dr so you would be going in before you ran out of medication. That is what I would recommend. You need some relief and to feel better. We should go ahead and get you started doing this right.

I also agree that some counseling might benefit you. You know that is way out of my league. I try to be supportive and talk as honestly as I can to people but I am not qualified to counsel patients. NO WAY. I would never claim to be a counselor. I think you should follow up with that too like you said.

Don't blame this mess on you not being mentally strong. Patients keep drs in business. You don't have anything wrong that lots of others don't deal with too. Nothing to be ashamed of or feel badly about to need some help. Cut yourself some slack.

If you want to go ahead and get those 30 pills do it. Then we can get you started. Let me know. God bless.

My hero...are you around? I hope so. This was last week when we wrote this and I was hurting so bad Robert. I didn't steal...but I picked up the norcos that were waiting for me at the pharmacy.. long story short..I was taking 10 norco 10mgs a day. I would rather deal with the side effects and be on the sub. than the norcos. I had norcos yesterday. But all night last night and this morning I had the chills...sweats..anxiety again..so I know I was in withdrawl already. I picked up the 30 2mgs subs this morning first thing. I took 4mgs and the sweats and chills are gone.. I now know the the power of this amazing medication. I still have some anxiety and cravings but I can't believe how it took away the physical symptoms like that. OK so last norco was yesterday. I was in withdrawal this morning and took 4mgs of sub. What do you think? I don't have another app. yet. I know that he will increase the amount but he only will go 1mg a week and he'll make me come in once a week...I just can't afford it. I am going to look for a new doctor now-but you know that may take a month for my next app. Maybe I should follow up with him once more until I can find someone else? Also I don't know what I would tell the other doctor.
Have you heard of this side effect...when I am driving or on the computer..my eyes just start to close...like I am going to fall asleep. It is a fight to keep them open. I read that low doses can do this and that a higher dose makes you feel less tired..interesting, huh?

Some people do have the sleepy feeling as a side effect of suboxone. It will be simple to tell if this goes away or gets better when you are on the right dose. It's difficult to say what exactly your symptoms will be at this point. You have never done this the way it should be done so we can't base anything for the future on what has happened so far in the past. You know we are all a little different and with suboxone the patients should be dealt with on a case basis and symptomatically. When drs automatically treat everyone the same and prescribe everyone the same they are messing up. That is not the way suboxone should be prescribed. Your dr continues to do the same WRONG thing over and again. I really can't believe this guy.

I think that you should try to get another month's worth of medication from your dr ASAP. I don't want to suggest telling a ficticious story as I don't believe in doing that. But this dr has jacked you around since day one. Tell him whatever works to get more meds from him. Then immediately find another sub dr. If you need help say so. But it's no big deal figuring something to tell the new dr. I would just tell him the truth, that your current dr is clueless and you need a dr who knows what's going on. Say that your current dr has left you in a continuous state of w/d all the time prescribing you 1-2mg per day. You need a dr who knows how to prescribe this medication. The new dr won't have a problem with you, he will agree that your current dr has been prescribing the suboxone wrong.

Here is what I want you to do. You took 4mg this morning and it made you feel much better physically. I want you to take the EXACT same amount each day from now until we change your dose. DO NOT jump around on your doses period. I want you to take another 2mg late this afternoon. You don't wait until you get sick to take more, you take it to prevent that from happening. I want you to take 6mg per day like I just described and do that today thru Wednesday. That will be three days. That is how long a person should be at the induction dose. Then talk to me on Wednesday again. If all is well, I will have you reduce the dose to 4mg and that is where you will stay for a while. But stay in touch over the next couple days and let me know how you are doing. It's important that this three day period goes the way it's supposed to. That determines how you will do as you move forward at your lowest effective dose. I am guessing right now that will be 4mg per day.

Don't get uptight about this. It will all work out just fine if you do as I ask you to and communicate with me. We will get you feeling like you should be feeling as long as you follow instructions and STAY AWAY FROM THE NORCOS. I mean that ... please don't let me down and most important don't let yourself down. I can only help you to the extent that you are willing to help yourself. I would like for you to post each day just to let me know how you are doing be it good or bad. It helps me to know what to suggest as we move forward if I know how you have done each day. Just trust me that it's important and that I need to hear from you for your benefit.

I hope that this is a big turnaround for you. I believe that with the proper instructions and adequate supply of medication you will have a better than average chance of success. The only reason I don't say it's guaranteed is that you still have to follow through with the appropriate action too, it still takes some work on your part. I will be watching for your posts. I just wanted to let you know that the first couple of days on suboxone I would get very sleepy at around 7:00 pm. This was 2 hours after my 2nd dose and was always worse if I was on the computer..I would lay down to try to nap but would not be able to sleep..The sleepy feeling lasted about a half hour and then it would pass.The sleepiness went away after about 3 or 4 days.Good luck !

Pretty amazing coming off of 100mgs hydro. a day....Same thing today. I had the 4mgs in the morning in one dose and around 3:00 took the afternoon dose of two mgs. I took it a little earlier *I was planning on the afternoon dose at around 5pm each day* because I was feeling major restlessness..anger...just depressed and BAD..ready to cry every second type of deal. Yelling at the kids what do you think? Should I have held out? I bet this guy will let me maintain for a bit on 4mgs a day...and my next app. is coming up in a couple weeks.

It's okay if you change your afternoon dose by a couple hours or so. This isn't THAT much of an exact science that we can't change the time we dose by a couple hours. It is okay if it makes you feel better. Go for it. I don't want you to EVER feel badly. No more of that nonsense for you. I want you to feel good from now on. That is why we are doing this together so you can start feeling good again.

You are going to have to get more suboxone asap. Try to not run it up to the last day. That will just stress you out. Get it handled as soon as you can.

Take 6mg again tomorrow just like you have done it the last two days. Then post again tomorrow afternoon and tell me about tomorrow. If all goes well tomorrow as I am expecting it will then you will drop to 4mg per day on Thursday. You will take 2mg in the morning and 2mg in the afternoon. You will stay at that dose for a while then if all goes well. Everything is contingent on you doing well. If you don't feel good tell me. You need to call the dr NOW and get more pills. If you drop to 2mg now EVERYTHING that you have accomplished this week will be for nothing.

Remember I told you when we started that you need to get some more pills. I don't know what to tell you if you drop to 2mg now. It will be messing up all that we have done. Don't let this guy screw up the progress we've made.

Suboxone isn't like norcos where you just take 2 instead of 3 because your stash is getting low. This medication doesn't work like that. Get more pills please! I don't want to see you in the same shape you were in a couple weeks ago. You've made too much progress to let that happen. I am serious. You need more medication. God bless.
