Default fighting fatigue from loratab withdrawls

Hello, my boyfriend has been clean now for one week. He is going to
the local mental health clinic for treatment. The Doc has put him on
tegretol three times a day which is helping his emotional state. However his biggest problem he has NO energy. He lies around on the couch or in the bed. Due to his addiction and abuse of RX pain pills and xanax's he has lost his home, job, 2 vehicles, and accrued a mound of debt. Does anyone have any helpful advice for picking his pace up???????????[:I]

I've only been clean 8 days, and today was the first day I had ANY energy. I'm not even remotely back to normal....but each day, each day is a little easier...tell him to hang in there, and maybe take some KavaKava and eat chocolate/drink coffee? It WILL pass.

From my experience, Nicole is right. Withdrawl is nasty, especially from benzos like Xanax, which stay in your system for weeks. Even after the w/ds are over, he is going to experience some adjustment and possibly depression as he reevaluates his role in life. Getting over the addiction is a slow process, but he is lucky to have someone that cares about him by his side. Give him time, but don't be afraid to encourage him to get back into doing sober things he loves.

Thanks to whatever and lordy for your comments. I have stood by his side now over a year, and I realize paitence is a virtue. No one person can change, conform, or even mold them into what or who they would like them to be. This coming Sat will be 2 weeks, the benchmark for sobriety. yeah.... So how has the past few days been for you guys? He still does not have any energy. If you have any words that you would like to share I will gladly read them to him. You see my boyfriend cannot read or write.
