Please bare with me.I know this is long.About five months ago now I was diagnosed with pleurisy.It lasted for three months.I went to alot of doctors and got about 8 chest x-rays in two months.I ended up going into the E.R room where an outside stat CT refferal was ordered.The Imaging department changed it to routine.So I had to wait 2 months because the radiologist was discriminative telling me a CT was unecesary.After I finally got it without the contrast it showed a few non specific subpleural and parenchymal nodular densitiess.The lung specialist I saw said there were spots all over my lungs from what he saw but didnt know what they were from.So he ordered 9 more test.
Pft,vq,another ct,ultrasound of my heart,ekg,alterial blood draw,general blood draw,and another chest x-ray.
After all that he said there was permanent scarring all over both my lungs from past pneumonia.
And that in six months another ct will be done.Heres the thing though.Im having all these test but none of them are being explained to me.And when I ask him to he down plays the findings a little because I can tell hes not sure whats really going on.Im very concerned because my lungs are not expanding like they used to in the last six months,and my chest is very heavy.I cant hear and feal my hear beat.Its heard to talk and more and more demanding to breath.Does anyone know anything about this?
The last three years I've got bronchitus chronicly and pnemonia a few times dew to a really bad sinus drip and being a mouth breather which I sitll have both so am extremly worried because Im so succeptable to further lung damage,and then what???
I posted this thread because im very confused.hes a good doctor but is very limited on time and doesnt even fully know whats going on himself.Im unable to see another lung specialist for many reasons.I feal like theres no preventative measures being taken.With this sinus drip and inability to breath through my nose It feals like its just short matter of time before im in serious trouble with my lungs.The very odd thing is is that my nasal passages are open but cannot breath through my nose.Im on a steroid inhaler.The times I do rarely get air through my nose and voluntarily breaht through it my chest is very tight.I dont even know if i should be getting all this radiation and testing considering the confusion??I had a pft test that said I have mild restrictive lung disease.But the person who administered the test typed up on the report that I comprimised the test.THATS NOT TRUE.I EXHALED UNTILL MY LUNGS FELT LIKE THEY WERE GOING TO COLLAPSE.SO IM NOT EVEN BEING TREATED FOR THIS.VERY FUSTRATING!
