    Default Feeling EXHAUSTED on suboxone

I started taking suboxone about three months ago. It really helps with my cravings, but I get EXTREMELY tired while I'm on it. I am so tired I am nodding out, and I am sleeping about 13 hours when I feel like this. I never felt like this before using suboxone, and when I don't take it I feel normal. I have talked to friends who take suboxone and they have never felt the way I do. When I spoke with my doctor about it he just brushed me off. I am considering not taking it anymore, but I am worried about relapsing. Am I the only one that feels this way?

How much suboxone do you take daily in mg? That could affect the way you're feeling. What is your opiate using history? After three months it's time to start getting off. NO WAY you need to stop abruptly. You'll get sick as a dog.

I can help you taper off without w/d symptoms if you do as I suggest but I need to know a little about you. Check out the following link on suboxone/subutex therapy. God bless.

I was prescribed to take 8mg daily, but I found that to be too much so right now I am taking 2mg twice a day. I have been using opiates for about 8 years previous to my getting on suboxone. I was going back and forth between OC's and Heroin. I was using at least 80mg a day of OC before I quit, but that was mostly just to get through the day. I don't really want to taper off the suboxone yet, I am just wondering if the exhausted feeling I get is normal. I am taking such a low dose I don't see how it can be making me feel so tired unless I am allergic to something in it.

I agree that 4mg is not a really high dose. I'm glad to hear that you aren't at some horrid dose like some people are when they get here. I was also able to originally stabilize at 8mg even with my horrid history and was off at about eight weeks. But I'm not trying to talk you into stopping, just think about a couple things. I talk to a lot of people using suboxone/subutex daily here but I'm sharing from personal experience only, not as dr.

When you add up what you've said, go back and read what you've written on this thread, it would seem from that how the two are related. You agree the suboxone is what it seems to be. Your symptoms do seem to come from the subs. My experience is that the symptoms you describe are mostly common to those taking more suboxone than what is necessary. So I'm saying you would possibly do better at a lesser dose. I bet if you cut it back to at least 3mg daily, or 25% less than what you currently take, you would possibly feel better. A 25% reduction is what we also recommend in the aforementioned link for a standard taper. That is a good amount to reduce by for most people comfortably when they reduce. Just a suggestion to try. I would be surprised if you didn't feel better. God bless.

    Thumbs up

sorry to spam your thread with this question, i just didnt want to make a new thread to ask it.. i wish i could be of any help as i know nothing about subs however robert is helpin ya so my input isnt important anyhow lol

so what my question is.. is suboxone obtained through perscription only or is it over the counter? i am in canada btw if the laws happen to be different from other countries. i have never heard of suboxone before until i hopped on this site a week or so ago. I understand they help with opiate addiction which is what i am struggling with, just like you OC no heroin tho. But alot higher does of OC then you. about 160+mg a day. Suboxone seams like it would be a good idea for me thats why im a little curious about it. once again sorry to spam your thread jenny. And the best of luck to you on getting off of this stuff.

Suboxone is only obatained in the US through a perscription. I'm not sure about Canada though. It does help with opiate addiction, and has really helped me to get clean. I would highly recommend that you try it out, if you have any other questions I would be glad to help you the best I can. Good luck! Stay strong

To get a dr in the USA go to www.suboxone.com. Just enter your zip code and adjust the parameters for how far you're willing to drive to see a sub certified dr. My computer is down so I don't have the Canadian link available on this computer. I will have to get it for you if you need subs in Canada. God bless.
