Sir
In response to your query, no, they will not be able to tell which particular medication caused the positive test, only the specific chemical itself. Most drug tests are conducted with a conjugate, meaning that a specific chemical reaction is required to initiate a result with a colloidal binder. Even a GCMS (gas chromotography mass spectometry) test will not identify the exact medication, only the presence of the specific isomer salt (codene, opiates, delta 9 tetrahydrocannibinolic acid). If you do test positive here is what you can expect - Before your company / employer will be notified about the results (unless its probation or parole)you will be contacted by an MRO (medical review officer, usually an MD) who will ask about the presence of said substance. If you can actually prove, either by confirmation with your physician or by the actual pill bottle itself, that you possess and take the medication for legitimate medical reasons, its no big deal. If you cant, you are a confirmed positive test, and normally if its an employment deal, you are terminated or offered drug treatment (some companies do this) if its probation or parole, you are in DEEP um, well, you know...
If you have any more questions about this (I know ALOT about this particular subject) feel free to contact me via yahoo messenger (caddon@yahoo.com) or send email to the same.
Good luck,
