About 15 years ago a doctor prescribed me erythromyacin and within 30-45 minutes I started shaking, heart started pounding, I felt like I couldn't breathe, and so I went to the er and they said I was having a panic attack. This went on for 3 days and I was terrified because I wasn't believed I was ill. Then 8 months ago after taking a protonix I did the same thing again. My husband and I both were out of work at the time and had no insurance so I couldn't go to a doctor. A few months later we got cobra ins. And I told my doctor about it and she just blew me off. Now I am terrified to take anything because I don't want it to happen again. Last April my father died suddenly and then almost 2 months later my mother was killed in a car accident and I made it to the scene before the ambulance came and it was an awful time for me. Mother was thrown out and was in a ditch. After that I started having major problems with my stomach. I have lost over 100 pounds and have been to doctors over and over for a year. The last doc said I had diverticulitis and was having spasms in my colon. Am taking robulin forte for spasms. It took me forever to start taking the medicine because I was so scared of having panic attacks again. The medicine has not helped. I have severe diarrhea and have to wear a depend undergarment. The doctor last gave me Welchol and I have not started it yet out of fear. I don't know what to do. My doctor was going to walk out the door after telling me to continue with the robinel and I stopped him and said I still had horrible bowel problems and he just handed me the Welchol. Has anyone out there had problems with meds like I have or any of the other problems? If so please help. I can barely leave my home. Between awful gas bloating and diahrrea I'm nearly housebound. Bad stomach, have you ever had a upper and lower gi xray taken? Since you have insurance, you should demand that your doctor either orders these or sends you to a specialist who will investigate your problem. These tests are unpleasant but will show a problem if there is one.

As far as the panic attack's, I know they feel real because I've had them and they can really upset your whole system. It is important to make sure there is nothing else wrong before your doctor dismisses this to anxiety. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

gordoheli, I have had upper and lower testing. I have had 2 colonoscopies and the last showed diverticulitis and colon spasms. He gave me Robinul forte 2xdaily and the spasms are better but the diarrhea is worse than ever. I have lost another 8 pounds in 2 weeks. I explained this to him about the bowel habits still so bad but he said to continue meds and that was it. I don't understand why he didn't try something else. I do not know where to turn now. I 'm really getting scared now because I am a skeleton and no end in sight. Thanks for your post. badstomach

yes I have . I had a colonoscopy and said I had ibs but I have anxiety {about a year now} but any kind of mediccine I take makes me have upset stomach and diarrhea. As a matter of fact I take protonix too> I have heard to go to a ob gyn dr for bio-medical hormones maybe you could try that. god Bless^^^

Also My doc put me on metemucel . It regulates you and believe me for 10.00 it would be worth a try. Very seldom take my bentyl which is prescribed Good Luck^^^
