    Default Doing great on Methadone!

Well it is the 4th week and I am up to 75mg. I don't think I need to go any higher. I feel great. I read a lot of post lately and thru that learned that Methadone makes you tired and you crave sweets. So....that was a big issue for me and decided if I am going to stay on the Mehadone I need to work with it. I quit smoking 5 days ago and have been working out everyday. I am feeling better every day. My husband went on it the same time and he seems to sleep alot. I found out if you stay active you wont get that nodding feeling. The minute I sit down, I start to nod. So stay active. I was smoking too much and even more when I started the Methadone. So, I quit that. Now I just have to control my sweet tooth, and the more active I get, the better that gets. I was up and on the treadmill this morning at 5am. I havn't done that for years! It feels great.
    Thanks for everyone being here

I was following your story, although I had not posted. I'm glad to see you doing so well with this. Be careful though, on doses being raised. If I'm not mistaken, this was addiction treatment, not chronic pain, correct?

I thiink youve made a very proactive choice in exercising and taking care of yourself. And yyouo stopped smoking! BRAVO!!

How is yur husband adjusting to the methadone? Did he get stabilized yet?

Your right on the raised doses and I thought about that yesterday. I have a block of 80 but that doesn't mean I have to go that high, and I don't think that I will. For one thing, I don't plan on being on this forever and also i feel, the less mgs, the less side effects!? I feel comfortable where I am at right now. I could even go down probably. And now with the stop smoking and working out even more I am sleeping better.
My husband had been doing better once they started raising his dose. Then he came down with a terrible cough, and he sleeps a lot. I suggested maybe going to the family doc and see if there is something wrong.
    Thankyou for your reply!
