My husband and I are keep on arguing that he's hooked w/ Valiums. I keep on telling him to stop taking it coz he'll be depeding on it. My husband is a usual guy who sleeps late. He's taking 1 tablet (5ml) a night to let him sleep (which is I don't agree) because everytime he's taking it he won't sleep at once. He will still watch DVD movies then sleep after 3-4 hours. So what do you think? Am I right that he's using it because he's addicted and enjyoing it? or he's using it because he has an insomia? Thank you

Valium(diazepam) should not be used for more than a couple weeks at a time.Benzodiazepines are a highly addictive group of drugs that are very often abused and unfortunetly cause some deaths.Keep on him about it because benzodiazepine addiction is one of the worst and can be deadly if the patient suddenly stops (ie:siezures ect).So he needs to be re-evaluated by his doctor.There are other sleep meds that are far less dangerous then valium and his doctor can order it if needed.Good luck....Dave
