Default Diovan for High Blood Pressure

Hi I am new to this and am glad I found this forum I hope someone can help with this. I have been on Diovan for at least 10 years,my blood pressure measures about 135/ 78. I do not smoke never have and do not drink, I drink water, 2 cups coffee aday and tea, hot and greeen or black. I do not salt food,,, now my ankles swell and hurt ( I do have Fibromyalgia, since 1991). I was wondering if the diovan which is an angiotensien, could have my veins so relaxed that the valves cannot pump the fluid back up properly, Is that possible??? Anyone know??? I see no reason why my ankles and feet and legs swell so much. Help??? Thanks for reading[8)]

I agree with calling your doctor. If you have any renal (kidney) problems, angiotenson inhibitors can aggravate them. Swollen ankles can sometimes be associated with kidney problems (ex: kidneys don't work properly, so don't get rid of fluid, so the fluid is retained in the body. It will collect at the lowest point ie; your feet.) Not trying to scare you at all, just saying you never know and it does warrant a call to your doctor to check it out.
