Don't you think it would be safer to ask your pharmacist?
To me, it would make more sense to get a professional opinion rather than those you might get from people who may or may not be reliable.

You are in Canada so the second question on this website would apply to you.

How far along in the pregnancy is your wife? It does not sound like she has begun pre-natal care. I spent the first 3 months of my first pregnancy ill - vomiting, faint, etc. Fortunatly, I was not having to work at the time; but I pretty much lived on Gatorade and my dr never suggested anything except keeping the electrolytes up (Gatorade) and rest. Some of that goes with pregnancy.

Get her to an OB doc before beginning any meds for the vomiting. Try sipping a sports drink like gatorade. best of luck with the new baby, Lynda

what trimester? if it is the first, i would be hesitant and truely weigh the risk vs benefits. it is the salt that is similar to theophylline that i would be worried about bc theophylline is pregnancy category C.

i would try non-drug measures explained in this first article. then try plan benadryl if you want to use a drug. i am sure you have researched this already but this product gets its anti-emetic properties from diphenhydramine(benadryl) component. the chlorotheophlline salt is added as a stimulant to conteract the drowziness of the diphenhydramine. so unless your wife is a truck driver i would just use benadryl....
