I am 72 hours into a hydrocodone detox... Needless to say it has been very difficult!! I have a question if anyone can help. I have experienced many of the symptoms, but I don't know if it's common in a detox for your skin to feel hot and sensitive. Almost like a mild sunburn. I have had the chills, diarrhea, terrible depression, lack of appetite, just generally lethargic. My skin gets red and sensitive in some places mainly the neck and head. Anyone else experience this?

I waited a bit to answer because I'm just a newbie here but I'm not new to Opiate w/d symtoms. First off I have to say congratulations! 72 hours off hydro cold turkey? That's fantastic. And, everything you are feeling is right on track for Day 4, which is for many, THE worst day. I remember all those symptoms well...Are you taking anything to help you through this? How much and how long were you taking Hydro? Telling your story will help the more experienced people here help you. Good luck!

It could be the effect of your chills. I've never personally heard of that symptom or had it myself but anything is possible. My wife has that issue with her skin, but she has fibro

Well....here goes. SWIM suffered a back injury and was prescribed hydro. Not a big deal till it was available at will. Started in 08 just messing with it. Been on it everyday for the past 1.5 year to some degree. Prolly averaged 8-10 10/325 a day. Sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. Started feeling like ???? all the time even faint, and was sick of chasing something that was no longer there and was going to destroy me.

Let me start by saying congratulations on 72 hours. You are just about over the hump and should start feeling better soon!

I'm on day 10 of CT from a 60mg+ oxy habit. I can tell you I now feel 100% better.

I definitely had a similar feeling up around my neck and shoulders. Sometimes it came down to my arms as well. I would say with a high probability that any strange sensations you have right now are directly related to the opiate WDs you are experiencing.

You are doing great. Take it one day at a time and treat the symptoms. Have you heard of the Thomas Recipe?
