That is simply needing a pain med once a day. Likely a dependence, very unlikely addiction although you would feel some symptoms if you stopped abruptly. Two percs could cause shortness of breath even though it's not common that only two would do that.

We need to support eachother. I know exactly what your talking about. I have a displaced lung among other ailments I"ve taken Percoset for, oxycotton. I think generic for.
I had to go to the E.R I was beyond short of breath! I was about to fall asleep permanently panting for air. Incridibly scary.
The thing that sucks is that all my lungs can handle is vicoden which doesn't kill the pain.
I can unsterdand now why so many people. Celebrities(heath ledgter) Die from these pills everyday.
Pharmacist when I enquir among many doctors telling me this medicine is natorious for people duying because they simply stop breathing.\
Even by only taking 1!!!
I thougth about taking a bottle to kill myself recently. I didn't because I was tripping on the fact that I would suffocate to death instead of falling asleep and not waking up.
Also what is very interesting to me to which I posed the same question as you as far as addiction versus dependancy. I think think dependancy can and is addiction, and other times it's completly different.
I take meds daily asking myself that very question. It's a very complex subject. I myself don't know which one I more am anymore.\
Anyhow , good luck with your restless leg syndrome and migrains. I took percoset for migrains after a nose surgery that went wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know it's no joke
take care

P.s
I know it's common law,but don't want anything bad to happen to you.
DOn't ever crush or break your painkillers.
I was nieve doing that a couple of times thinking if I took half it would be as strong....i thought.
I just digested it quicker and felt like taking three full ones at the same time.
Also try to remind yourself to take on a FULL stomach.
Do you have asthma? if so of course cary your rescue inhaler with you at all times. Know where its at in your home. Have a disisgnated place for it. I scatter mine too much.

I find out through a doctor that yes people with lung disease are more proned to shortness of breath or worse on these pain meds, but people who have never had a cold in there life can stop breathing just as easily as someone like myself.
If it's that bad, dont take it!
Maybe try a couple vicoden at once,Talk to your doctor. RIght now I really want to take one,but i know i will be fighting for breath.
The ************************* about pain killers is that it doens't necessarily kill the pain. IT just makes it so you dont' give a dam....like breathing.I like the high even though my breath was so labored.
