Hey guys

Anyone tried that combo before?
I want to do whatever I can to avoid the tolerance and mood swings thats been haunting me for 2 months now. Tenex is fantastic for keeping me unconsciously in a good place (if that makes sense - I make better choices, stay around better people and am more on track without noticing it.)

I take Provigil 200mg when I need a break from Adderall XR, roughly one week out of the month.

Adderall XR makes me a genius, but I tend to let everything else in my life go - so I can do an intense amount of abstract thinking and research and impress my teachers, but I also dont, for example, get my oil changed in my motorcycle, finish some paperwork for a job, or the all those other mundane things we all need to do for daily life.

Does anyone out there have some suggestions? I need my genius side, but I also want to be happy and relaxed again.

I'd also want to try out some other meds soon, such as Concerta or Strattera, but I'd like to hear some thoughts from the rest of the ADHD world before I go to my doctor (who has already said ok -we've already talked about experimenting)

Bit of background - intense ADHD, but never had any other condition. Mild depression set in bout a month after starting adderall instant release - its mostly in the form of frustrated inability to focus or make myself work.

So I started meds last May after getting diagnosed - I briefly went on Adderall instant release 120mg/day. Then switched to XR 90mg/day when the instant release crashes began in August.

I started Trazodone then as well to help combat mood swings from the instant release. I use that currently as 50mg/3xweek.

I started Tenex about 1.5 months ago at 1mg/nightly.
Provigil I started about 2.5 months ago and its 200mg/daily.

I really miss my intense drive and ability to do 1000 things at once, which was how I was before I started meds. But with adderall XR and provigil, at first, I was able to do all that, and at a level of intellectual ability that shocked the ******************** out of me - I loved it .

I read as much as I could before starting any of those meds, so I know the importance of balancing and keeping a healthy lifestyle -

I run 3-4x/week and am in training for the Ironman. I try and take vitamins: daily, C, omega, fish oil, Calcium and occasionally 5htp (very rarely) and I dont drink. I eat fruits and veggies and I try and manage stress as best I can.

My goal is to bring back my normal cheerful side and yet keep this intellectual ability at its peak, or near peak.

I know I can somehow find the balance I need to make all this sustainable, so Im turning to all you anonymous adhd'ers and experience med'ers to throw some advice or guidance my way. I appreciate your ideas, so mahalo and aloha for your help.
