7 days post-ultram...need reassurance Hi,
I was an prescribed ultram about 10 months ago for fibromyalsia pain. I probably can't explain to where it will make sense, but one day I just KNEW I had to get off of that medicine. I had been taking 100mg/twice a day and my body wanted more. I knew I couldn't go there!
Anyway, I took my last pill 7 days ago. It's been pretty much hell on earth but with the help of my family, I'm feeling better each day.
I've been at my mother's for almost 3 days due to the horrible anxiety/depression that I was going through that I just didn't want to let my kids see me go through. My husband has been a wonderful support and encouraged me to go.
I have been on Zoloft now for one week and was given Xanax (which I only take 1/2 pill if I get that "out of control feeling")
Can someone tell me how long it took for their anxiety/depression to go away? I'm also still having some pain in my legs/restlessness....
Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated!!! -
I am on day 11 I think of a 10-15 per day on an off for 15 years(hydrocodone/percocet) habit. You are doing great. Remember, this is supposed to suck, it is difficult, but you made it through the hard part. I am still having restless leg and sleeping is still an issue. By day 10, the physical w/d start to be less apparent and then it shifts to a mental w/d.
Also, don't let the pains you are starting to feel trick you to use as a lotof the time, those physical pains are just withdrawl related.
Take a hot shower, go for a walk or go kick a hungry Rottweiler, that way it will divert your attention to something more pressing.
Good Luck -
Thank you for responding! The "Rottweiler" comment made me laugh I'll be really glad to go home to my kids tonight... I'm sure they'll keep my mind busier than it is now! -
Hi,
If you went cold turkey off 200 mgs a day, it's perfectly normal for you to be feeling this way. Not fun, but normal! It's good you've got the Zoloft and the xanax, and it sounds like you're using the xanax wisely. I promise you that you're going to feel better and better. It's a tough withdrawal, so don't be discouraged if you continue to have some emotional symptoms going forward. Just remember they're just symptoms, they don't mean anything more than that, and your body is gradually healing itself even when you feel rotten. Keep eating well, exercising as much as you can, and sleeping as much as you're able, and you will be fine.
I hope you have a great weekend!

Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated!!! Oh freeiam,
I have been in your shoes! I had a bad addiction to that mess and the w/d's were the worst but hang in there because you can do this. For the restless legs, I took long hot baths. That really did help. It also helped with the leg pain and muscle cramps. I took Advil PM but would have taken valium if I had some at the time. The good thing is that the RLS only lasts for a few days. Another thing that I did was put Ben Gay patches on the parts of my leg's that hurt the most. Some ppl on this forum suggest eating a banana or taking potassium vitamins for the leg crams. I never tried it but I have heard positive feedback on these boards.
I also went through the depression. I felt like I had nothing to look forward to and I pretty much felt like I had been hit by a truck. I have been taking Lexapro for a few years now so my depression only lasted a few days. I was also exhausted but vitamin B6 helps some.
It sounds like you are through the worst part of it. It is not an easy thing to do but once you get through the first week or so, you will slowly improve and all of your energy will come back and with that, the depression goes away.
Hang in there! You are not alone!
