    Default (S)-iso-mer of REMERON(MIRTAZAPINE)

I recently knew that Organon is developing the (S)-iso-mer of REMERON(MIRTAZAPINE). Where can I find more information about this new development?

    Thanks a lot.

The (S)-iso-mer of a drug is the improved version of that drug. For example:

The Antidepressant Celexa (Citalopram) has an (S)-iso-mer named Lexapro (Escitalopram). Note that they added "Es" to the original drug name.

The Sleep Aid Imovane (Zopiclone) has an (S)-iso-mer named Lunesta (Eszopiclone). Note that they added "Es" to the original drug name.

As far as I know, Organon that is the company that developed REMERON(MIRTAZAPINE) is developing the (S)-iso-mer. The new development will be characterized for producing less side effects like WEIGHT GAIN or SLEEPNESS during the day.
Organon is in the second stage of this development, and there are FOUR stages until the FDA approves it and they will be able to release the product.
