Here you go Momo51~

Propoxyphene is used to relieve mild to moderate pain. Propoxyphene comes as a tablet, capsule, and liquid to take by mouth

You can build up tolerance to, and become dependent on, these drugs if you take them in higher than recommended doses over long periods of time.

Propoxyphene is a mild narcotic analgesic structurally related to methadone. The potency of propoxyphene hydrochloride is from two-thirds to equal that of codeine

Propoxyphene, when taken in higher-than-recommended doses over long periods of time, can produce drug dependence

Does any of this help??? Let me know if you need anything else

davidwarn,

The original poster asked nothing of tramadol which in my eyes is a useless drug for me. The drug the poster is asking about is darvocet, darvon, etc. It is a mild opiate pain reliever for mild to moderate pain. I have been prescribed it in the past and while it does take the edge off of the pain it is not for severe pain. I could associate using darvon after say an arthoscopic knee or shoulder surgery along with anti inflammatories.
