Nexium, swallowing disorder

I've been dianosed with GERD. I am currently on protoxyn and have had little help. I have a swallowing disorder and i've heard many people brag about Nexium, but also said that you can't take it while smoking. I would like your opinion on Nexium if it has helped you and your thoughts of the anti-smoking message.
