I was just prescribed vicodin and I was wondering how safe it is to take while being pregnant, I am aware of the damage it can cause to your liver but what about the baby? The reason I was prescribed is because I have a very bad cavity and it is touching the nerve so my dentist gave me vicodin and a antibiotic. It is to bad to just take tylenol. If someone can give me some info I'd be very grateful! Thank you very much!

Vicodin is in the FDA pregnancy category C. This means that it is not known whether it will be harmful to an unborn baby. Do not take this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment.

Thank you! I talked to my doctor and she said it was ok to take them. So far so good she is active and her heart rate is fine so I'm hoping that my doctor is right about it.
