Subutex training?

Hi guys, im fairly new to this forum, been posting here and there, giving my advice best i can.

I'm currently a pharmacy technician, im nationally certified so my drug knowledge is pretty high.


I was curious, do i need to be a doctor to go through subutex training? To go through the course to dispense this medication?


Im guessing so since you're prescribing medication to someone. Someone please help me? Thanks.

Um yeah its a schedule 2 drug I believe(could be wrong) but I know I'm not wrong when I say Yes you need to be a doctor to take the suboxone/subutex training for prescribing it. Now if you mean working in a clinic or Drs office that dispenses it under the supervision of a doctor then there might be a class you have to take but never heard of it. Hit up google...

You have to be a dr to dispense / prescribe medication or I would have taken the test and started a sub clinic long ago. Buprenorphine is a schedule III narcotic by the way. God bless.

Haha thanks Robert and yes if you could start up a sub clinic it would be awesome! Need more people like you who actually care too bad they couldn't make an exception for you, I bet you could do even greater things if that was possible.
