Default Refill date

My refill for my pain meds is not due to be picked up until Friday. We are leaving for Vacation on Friday, do you think the pharmacy will allow me to pick it up 1 day early? When I called yesterday, they said it wouldn't go through until friday because of the insurance. can they over ride that for one day or can they call the ins. co. and get it to go through? If I call and ask them, will that make them angry because it is a controlled substance? Please answer-anyone...

If you use that pharmacy on a regular basis, talk to the pharmacist. Even if you don't know them well, it can't hurt to try. S/he will probably give it to you, and put it through the following day for payment. I am on good terms with mine. I ask him about any natural med's I take or if I can take anything at all with what I'm on, as if I have a cold. I also have one med that isn't covered by insurance, and he will wait for payment on it, and give it to me as I need it.

I don't know where your from but my pharmacy allowed me to get my meds early because I was going away and I just had to sign a legal form in the pharmacy stating as much. I live in Canada and I really don't think there would be much of a difference if you live in the states when it comes to this so long as your not going on hollidays more than a couple times a year.
