Default please let me vent!!!!

I would like to know if I am the only person in the world that has the worst experiences with my local CVS Pharmacy? They have made numerous mistakes with my medications, delayed refills, lost prescriptions in their computer, sent faxes to my doctor (??) without my consent or knowledge of what these faxes contain. They have told me several times that I have NO REFILLS left on my prescriptions (when I know for a fact that I DO), causing me to make unneccessary telephones calls to my doctor, only to find that the prescriptions are there the whole time. Once, they even almost gave me a prescription for A DOG who happened to have the same last name as me......although the dog's names was SNOOPY, the cashier was ready to hand it over until I checked. They have embarrassed me, humiliated me, loudly given unsolitited advice about what I am taking for medications. Yesterday was the last straw when they again did not complete a phoned in refill and telling me once again that I did not have any refills on the medication. I told them I knew for a fact that I had 3 refills left on the med and please check their computer again. They checked and sure enough, they had the wrong info in their computer, promised me that it would be ready in ten minutes. Again inconvienienced, but keeping my temper because it is Christmas afterall, I told them I would shop around a little. In five minutes, they were paging my name loudly over the intercom system. When I returned to the desk, they told me that I could not refill the prescription because it was too early. They again have the wrong date in their computer. I could go on and on about how unprofessional and incompetent this particular location is. Thanks for letting me vent and write back if you have had any similar experience. Any advice on how I could report them somehow would be helpful. I am very intimidated whenever I go there. I know that is not how it should be.

I totally understand!!! To have to jump through so many hoops, especially when you are not feeling well, is torture!! Just wanted to let you know that you can report them your state's department of health. It should be pretty easy to find online of you go to your states official web site and then the DOH from there, and then there should be a section specifically for pharmacies. Good Luck! I would definitely try out another pharmacy!

My pharmacy is alot like that, I just figure they love to torture me. Can't you change pharmacy's? I would. Have you spoken with your Doc about that place? I'd follow the advise above me and make some phone calls because the HIPPA privacy act is a huge deal now-a-days. The next time that your in there ask them, "Have you ever heard of the HIPPA privacy act?" They'll freak. They can't broadcast your info like that throughout the entire store.

Thanks to both of you for your responses! I feel better now and will take advice from each post. Yes I can change pharmacies and will do so as soon as my last refills are done there. I will also let them know why I do not intend to use theirs anymore. It was nice to hear from you and I don't feel so alone now. I have to go there this morning and am dreading it. They should have no reason to deny my refill of my prescription and I am armed with information. Thanks again and have a wonderful new year! I am still interested in hearing others opinions and experiences so post away if you have a story!
