Default PLEASE HELP!! - Suboxone Help -

I took a 2 mg Suboxone today..

when I have taken this med before I noticed I could not get any effects what-so-ever when I drink alcohol and no matter how much I drink on it because I am guessing the naxolone blocks the receptors for alcohol as well.

My question is: If I only took that 2mg tab of suboxone only today, how long do I have to wait in order to feel the effects of alcohol normally? Could it be as soon as tomorrow night??

I am worried it will be a while because I read people saying that they can't even feel a bigger dose than usual of vicodin, percocet, ETC. even a week or two or more after using this medication. Will this be the same with alcohol or will I feel the effects of alcohol normally if I drink tomorrow?

Please help if you know anything about this! This would really help me a lot!

Thanks!

No, it doesn't block alcohol, but it's a bad mix together, I don't know why you couldn't feel the alcohol, that's weird.
Btw, the Naloxone only acts as a blocker if you try to shoot or snort the Sub, it's the Bup itself that attenuates other opioids from hitting the µ receptor.

I know but I still think a little naxalone acts as a blocker no matter how you use it though, right? Because I am positive everytime I drink I cannot feel any euphoric effects at all one suboxone. Even if I drink 9 beers I still can't feel a thing but a bit sedated. The only thing that can explain this is the naxolone has to be blocking my receptors a bit. Thanks a bunch for the reply though!

No, again, naloxone only acts as an antagonist should one try and inject or insufflate the pill.
Buprenorphine (Suboxone or Subutex) is a partial opioid agonist, attenuating the effects of opioid agonists. As a result of its high receptor affinity, supplemental opioids do not readily displace buprenorphine from the opioid receptors.

I can't explain why you can't feel the alcohol, you should be able to, maybe the Sub just overwhelms the booze, but that should only to a small degree.

Naloxone is an ingredient of suboxone but its also an ingredient of narcan which is used in alcohol treatment.

Naloxone seems to reduce alcohol cravings but don't see that it does much more than that.
