Are you wanting to feel high throughout the day? That is not the purpose of medication. Percocet contains oxycodone which is also the active drug in oxycontin. The contins are simply time released and the percs are instant release. Oxycontin is designed to give you a steady release of medication but it isn't supposed to make you high all day. God bless.

Robert is certainly correct in everything. ALSO percocet has oxycodone AND tylenol. Oxycontin only have oxycodone ER in it. Therefore you need to be "more" careful when taking percocet due to hepatoxicity (liver toxicity) from the tylenol actually. It would actually be worse to overdose on percocet for this reason, but obviously take it exactly as prescribed.

Not to get into a debate here over the benefits/adverse effects of ultram it certainly comes with it's dangers too. Seen too many people have problems especially on higher doses of ultram/tramadol. I would never recommend a person switching over to ultram for pain control in order to quit taking oxy. God bless.
