Does anyone know of an antibiotic that works as well as Biaxin 500mg but is on the Walmart $4.00 list. My husband has COPD and we can no longer afford it?

Yes, it's generic Clarithromycin, there's no reason you should have to pay for brand name. Other brand names are Klaricid, Klabax, Claripen, Claridar and Clacid, talk to the pharmacist.

The Dr called in Doxycyclin hyc 100 mg tabs - my concern is when COPD is exacerbated the antibiotic should have been atleast 500 mg regardless of choice of meds. Oh well - im not the doc.
