    Default Mixing Prescription and Herbs

I am currently taking 40 mg of Celexa and 36 mg of Concerta a day. My question is this: Is it okay for me to take a herb called Kava when the Concerta wears off by the end of the day? On days when I have the weekend with my wife, I need something after the concerta wears off and then I'm left with trying to control my moods. I need to be stable for my wife...any advice? Is kava okay to try?

I don't see how kava would hurt you but think you should talk to the dr. Why is the concerta wearing off early when you're with your wife? That sounds pretty strange. God bless.

I doesn't wear off with my wife, just after 6-8 hours the maximum dosage begins to drop. It's a time release.

It's really in your best interest to talk to the dr. I'm serious, not joking about anything this time. I do kid around sometimes here. It breaks the boredom.

When you're taking those medications you shouldn't have periods of time where no medication is working. If the dose needs to be adjusted so that you obtain maximum benefits then that is what the dr should do.

You really should talk to the dr about perhaps adjusting the dose rather than allowing it to get to such low levels that it isn't helping and you have to take kava or valerian root or other herbs. That's very counterproductive with your med regimen in my opinion. Let us know what your dr says. Good luck and God bless.
