Default Lortab/ Lorcet Aren't they the same???

My doctor recently prescribed me "Lortab". The name looked familiar to me, so I went digging through my old medicine drawer and found an older bottle of mine with a few pills called "Lorcet" in it. It has not yet expired, so I was thinking I could probably take it until I find time to get my "Lortab" prescription filled. Also, according to my instructions, I am to take this every 4-6 hours as needed. What would happen if I took one of the Lorcets this morning and took the Lortab for my next dose? Would I have an ugly reaction? I have tried to find this information on the internet, but have not been able to find an answer. I would appreciate your help. Thank you!

They are both acetaminophen and hydrocodone. I don't know what dosages your prescriptions are. Since they are basically the same, you can take one from your old prescription and then when you get the new one filled.

Thank you for replying Trecrop. They both say "apap7.5/500", but the different names confused me. I don't know why the exact same drug is called different things. I really appreciate your help.[8D]

No problem. I don't know why they name the same things differently. I sure it has to do with money. If you want, I can give you the detailed information on both of those drugs. Let me know.

Hi Theresa! I have been on vacation and haven't checked the boards. The information, that I have seen has been generally the same thing over and over. If you have any additional info, and have the time, I would appreciate your sharing it. I don't think you can ever have too much info when it comes to these drugs. I don't know what field of work you are in, but I am gaining interest in the drug world. I am a recent college grad, and I was considering a career in the pharmaceutical sales industry, but it seems to be a hard field to break into. I've seen on the internet where these various sites claim you have to take "their test" for employers to consider you. It seems like a scam to me. If you or anyone you know has any info, that would be most helpful to me. Thanks again!
