Default Lexapro vr Effexor

Hello...I have Been taking lexapro for depression for about 10 months, My doctor has suggested changing to effexor due to some weight gain and tiredness. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two?.. Is one better that the other?.. what i can expect to feel when switching?...Thanx

With Effexor it is sometimes harder to tolerate the sleepiness, most people take it at bedtime. It has most of the same side effects, but it can have an adverse effect on the blood pressure, you just have to keep an eye on it at first. Unfortunately, drugs like these are trial and error until you find one that is best for you. But most anti-depressants affect weight/appetite.
