I have had chronic back pain for over 12yrs. I get lortabs for the pain. I also get boils in the worst places and are Extremely painful. I take way more lortabs for my boils than for my back,,, tho the boils only last a few days every month or so.
I take 10mg for my back and 5.0mg-7.5mg for the boils. I have asked my pharmacist if it was OK to fill the ones for my boil, because I don't want to get in trouble. They always say it will be fine.
So I got my lortabs filled for my back friday 10/09/09. Well I got a very big painful boil Sunday and went to my skin Dr today 10/12/09. I told him I didn't need the lortabs,, I didn't tell him this, but I knew I had just filled some on friday. We'll the nurse called me later today to tell me he had call in some pain meds.
My question is,,
(1)if I call the pharmacy and tell them I don't want them will I still get flagged? I know it may be filled, but I haven't picked it up. I don't want to piss out my back Dr.
(2) if you get some lortabs filled, but don't pick them up does it still count against you or show up on your record.

If I have two different severe pains can I get two scrips filled or only one.
My back Dr gives me #60 10mg and for the boils I get #10-#15 7.5mg or #15-#20 5.0mg lortabs.
It's not worth getting in trouble..

The scripts are good for a year. Wait until your current script is used up according to dispensing instructions and then you shouldn't have a problem with the other script for a different condition. That is not doing anything wrong in my opinion. I wouldn't fill the second one though while you still have the original. Why would you need it now when it's good for a long time?
