Is there a generic for this drug? I was reading a previous posting and someone said there is one. If so I haven't heard about it. Anyone know of one? Thank you.

The way I understand it is, the patent runs out this year so there probably will be one shortly. I think you can separate the two elements in Hyzaar, which are Cozaar and Hydrochlorothiazide . The latter, a water pill is avail at WalMart for around $4. The Cozaar replacement is called Losartan, which my pharmacist says is not available in the US. I got on a Canadian drugstore website and they say they sell Losartan. If you could just buy Cozaar and the water pill separately you'd probably save a little bit of money. If you'd buy from Canada you'd save a lot of money.
