I have a five year old son with eosinophiliagastroenteritis, and herschprungs disease. He also has had severe reactions to inhaled and oral steroids for his asthma( hallucinations, rage,etc.). We have heard very positive reports from other parents using Flovent to control their kids ES levels.Its something we would like to try, but are wondering if the side effects could be the same?

as a pharmacist i can't say that one steroid will have less side effects than the other bc they are all going to carry the same blanket of side effects. flovent would however be better than oral medication. i think it is worth trying if you have not tried it yet. individual responses to different meds can vary greatly so there is a chance it may work with less or no side effects.

i don't know how old he is but it is also important to note that flovent does not allow you to take the inhaler apart for use in a spacer or any other device
