Diphenhydramine use with Allegra D (12 hour)

Since there is an antihistamine in AllegraD, is it safe to use with the diphenhydramine in Theraflu? Have to take AllegraD on a daily basis for allergies but on the verge of a cold and want to "knock it out" before it gets bad. Any other suggestions if not good to take Theraflu?

As long as you don't overdo it, you will be fine, it might just cause a little excess drowsiness, or if you react the opposite way, some more jitters.
