Codiene

Can someone tell me why i have a severe reaction to Codiene when taken orally but have had morphine via IV and had no problem.

that depends on what you mean by "reaction". most people can't tolerate codiene because it causes stomach upset and cramping. followed by consitpation. you don't get that with IV morphine.

if you mean you had an allergic reaction (swelling, decreased blood pressure). there is a small chance that you are allergic specifically to codiene. or you grew out of the reaction if it happened long ago.
