Default Chloral Hydrate PLEASE HELP

My son started on Chloral Hydrate on Monday the 23rd to help his sleep. He got a HUGE bruise on his back on Tuesday, wednesday he got 3 tiny brusies on his arm kinda in a cluster. I took him into his Doc on Wednesday and they looked him over and sent us to the Hospital for Blood tests. While there the girl holding his arm for the blood test caused a thumb size bruise on his arm.

I just got off the phone with the doc and all the blood tests with liver function and platlet count was okay. He is now wanting us to go get a clotting test and a few other tests done.

I am trying to find out if Chloral Hydrate can cause brusing. Has anyone heard of it causing brusing. My son has NEVER had a problem brusing before. I am so worried.

He is 3 years old with the development of a 1 month old, he does not move around and cannot hurt himself. so I know it was not caused by him doing anything

PLEASE HELP ME

Sorry about your son Mom, the answer is maybe, a side effect listed is: anticoagulant effects may be increased, especially during first 2 wk.

I would ask the pharmacy for the Chloral Hydrate monograph (product insert sheetlet from the pharms master bottle) they will give it to you if you ask, this is what has all the best info. you may be able to find it on-line, either Google or go to the Mfr's website.
Good luck
