Can This Be a Whiplash? Can anyone help me with a possible whiplash? Monday night I was driving my car. I was on a small street with lots of restaurants, bars, and pedestrians waking around. There were a lot of cars, and I was either completely stopped, or moving at about 3 mph with my foot on the brake. There were cars in front and behind me. I was talking to some friends in the back seat about where we should go. Suddenly we were hit. It couldn't have been very hard, because it didn't knock me into the car in front of me. But it was hard enough to be a shock, and 1 of my passengers in the rear said he was hurt. I had to call him an ambulance and he went to the ER. He said his neck was swollen. The other 2 guys in my car were OK. It was a 3 car accident. The car behind me was hit by a 3rd car who hit him, and fled the scene. We assume the 3rd driver had been drinking. However, there was an eye witness who made the car who fled the scene. The 2nd car sustained minor damage to his rear bumper, but my car had no damage. Nevertheless, we called an ambulance and a police squad car came and took a full report. The driver of the 2nd car asked me several times if I was hurt. I really didn't know. He said the same thing. We were both in shock and had a lot of adrenaline going through us. I never did get to eat that night, and I don't drink. When I finally came home, I seemed to feel slightly nauseous. Is that a symptom of a whiplash? I also had a minor headache. Now today I'm noticing some minor pain on my right side in the rear. I am very upset that this whole thing happened because I'm an excellent and safe driver. In fact it's been 30 years since I was hit by another car and needed to call a police car to make a report. So I don't know whether this pain is from the car accident, stress, or maybe I coughed too hard?
So has anyone ever sustained a whiplash, and would you be willing to tell me about what happened?
