can anyone help me find Alu-Cap? hi, my dog's vet prescribed Alu-Cap aluminum hydroxide capsules (an antacid med for humans) for help in treating the symptoms of kidney failure. it helped my dog alot, altho he is no longer with me... his sister is now experiencing the same problems.
unfortunately Alu-Cap has been discontinued and i am having a hard time helping find some for his sister. i called over 30 pharmacies in Southern California this afternoon and could not find a single bottle sitting on a shelf. she has about 10 days worth left and i'm starting to really worry.
does anyone know where i might be able to find some Alu-Cap capsules to help my friend's dog? i would really appreciate any help. thank you in advance.

You can give a dog the same stuff a person would take. Here's a page with information on what products for people have this in it: http://www.vitacost.com/science/hn/D..._Hydroxide.htm
See what the dosage is on the capsules you currently have, then read the amounts contained in something such as the DiGel and give her the appropriate amount of that.
As long as you are careful not to give her too much, it is perfectly safe, and doesn't have to be a med labeled or dosed just for canines. verwon@gmail.com
My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~ -
thanks for replying... i will check it out but i think it is specifically the aluminum hydroxide that helps and not any antacid will help. alu-cap, alu-gel, there is a liquid form too. -
Well that is what I was trying to say, you can see listed on the page I linked to, that DiGel is Aluminum Hydroxide! verwon@gmail.com
