Breastfeeding- can't get pregnant- cabergoline? Hi! I would be so grateful for some knowledgeable advice here. My Dr. is
not available for a few weeks and not interested in helping me with this anyway so I have to do the research then present it to her.
My darling daughter is 2 years old and still a very enthusiastic nurser.
Have tried everything short of separation /cold turkey to wean.
I've been trying to get pregnant without success and have determined that high prolactin levels are to blame. I'd really like to either keep nursing, wean gradually, and get pregnant, or wean as efficiently as possible and get the prolactin levels down so I can conceive.
La Leche League discussion board suggested a pharmaceutical approach may work. I've come up with Cabergoline or Lisuride as potential drugs but info relating to my situation is hard to find.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
