Default Best Anti-depressant - HELP

I went off Effexor (with horrible withdrawal symptoms) last summer. I have decided that I must go back on something & plan to see my doctor tomorrow. My main need is to control my strong agitation/uneasiness & anger outburst. Does anyone have experience with any antidepressants that REALLY work well for these symptoms? TIA for any info.

I've done well with Paxil even though I couldn't take several others. If I forget to take it for a couple of days I know it because I start getting aggressive with everyone.

Good ol' exercise and a spiritual experience did the trick for me when I went off of Effexor. Also getting involved in something like politics helps. Vote Ron Paul 08'

Everyone is different, if some antidepressant works well for someone it doesn't mean that it will work the same for you. It is usually trial and error until you find the best antidepressant and you should cerefully choose it together with your doc. But you can make some research about different antidepressants to gain a better understanding about these meds.

There really is no say that a particular type of anti d will work for you. Each one works differently for everyone because each of our brain chemistry is set up differently, way differently. I' don't know what I can tell you to take the edge off your symptons. You must experiment with alot of medications in order to find the correct one!

As one anti d may not work for someone, it may certainly work for someone else.

NONE!!!
Don't take anything, please -- you are probably still going through withdrawls from Effexor -- agitation, anxiety, anger, etc.. are all withdrawal symptoms, and can show up months later, as your body continues to adjust,.... please check out the site www.antidepressantsfacts.com (get the spelling correct)to see what these drugs really do to you , and check out the forum 'Lexapro withdrawl' under "Featured Conditions" on this site -- it is a wealth of info and experiences for people on, or withdrawing from ssri's... bad news , but we're all there to help you -- research research research... and check out those sites, they are Awesome... you are in my prayers,

love,
Elizabethmarie
