    Question BAD ear infection

alright, so here's my story. im 18 and i have the worst ears out of anybody i know (ears, nose, and throat are all bad). I've had plenty of ear infections, but this is the first one in about a year, and by far the worst. most of my ear infections just feel awkward w minor pain and are usually accompanied by strep. but this time is way different... i had a TERRIBLE throat a week ago and a minor ear infection. now, my throat is fine and dandy and i thought my ear was fine (until yesterday). ii dont even know how 2 explain how bad my ear hurts. first of all, it feels like i have in a ear plug in, plus a bucket on my ear (lets just say im deaf in one ear) and the pressure's rediculous. then to top it off it feels like somebody sharpened a prison shank, jabbed it in my ear, and left it there. the doc says "its just an ear infection, blah blah blah". but this is by far the WORST and most INTENSE pain/feeling ive ever felt, and to be quite honest >> rather jump off a bridge, miss the water, land on the road, get hit by a semi, and wake up in a hospital bed, than to go through all this bs. i was just curious if there was anything else i can do to assist my meds, or relieve pressure, or anything. it wouldnt be as bad if it only hurtt, or only had pressure.

    thanks for reading.

Brad .... you've got my sympathy dude. Nothing hurts like a terribly bad ear infection. I've been there and I HATE ear aches! Wish there was something I knew to tell you but other than antibiotics to get rid of the infection I don't know what to tell you. I'm assuming you've got some pain medication? Take care buddy. I'll include you in my prayers. God bless.

Brad,The last time I had an ear ache it was bad.I went to a specialist and he told me to "pop" my ears to relieve the pain.It worked for me.Might be worth a shot. You may want to check with your Dr first. Here is a link full of suggestions how to pop your ears...good luck.

You never cease to amaze me dude! An ear popping link! That is cool. I saved that one for myself. I've popped my ears for years scuba diving and what not, but never saw a link for it before. Cool! God bless.
