I am hoping someone could give me info on taking potassium supplements while using atenolol 50mg. I am starting a medically supervised diet which requires quite a high dosage of potassium daily. The Doctor in charge of the programme knows I am taking Atenolol and has reduced the daily potassium, but I am worried if it is safe. When I checked on a general info site, it said not to take Potassium, yet the Dr. in charge says it is safe. (I should mention they require the supplements because it is a very low calerie diet). Thanks for any help.
