Question Anyone able to answer a question regarding a urine test?

Simply put i injured my back years ago in a motorcycle accident and have been taking Percocets 20 mg time release to help me sleep or get by if im having a bad day at work with the pain. I get refills every month and get drug tested every 3 months because im on a pain program. This month I happened to run out alittle early and had a VERY BAD night so i went looking through my medicine cabnit for something to help me get by. My wife had 2 vicoden pills ( from her wisdom tooth removal) and a small bottle of 6 green pills that she took after her C-section that i beleive are a form of morphen ( well thats what this site says they probably are) Now my question is this.... Are Vicoden and Morphen the same class pain pill as Percocet and would it be safe to take one if i run out again in the future. And even more important would the URINE TEST i take every 3 months flag me for taking a non perscribed medicine and i end up loosing my current Percocet perscription. I will just go see the doctor i guess if i run short again. ANY help or info would be nice.

You more or less answered your own question. You should go to your doctor if you require additional medication. Yes, the meds you are asking about are similar medications to your prescription, however drug tests today are so accurate that they can tell what your toxicity level is vs what it is supposed to be. You are risking losing your prescription doing what you are talking about. Pain doctors are watched very closely by regulators. The doctors have to do things according to the law or face losing their livlihood. They won't lose their right to be doctors because a patient chooses to take someone else's medication. And they shouldn't be expected to do that either. People get mad at them, but they just don't think.

I don't get it, you say you have a script, but Percocet isn't made in a 20mg tab, nor is it made as a CR (time release as you put it), you must be talking about Oxycontin, if so, then why say Percocet? Something smells rotten.

You are taking Oxycontin or Oxycodone "fast-acting" and either way you shouldn't be "running out" of your prescribed medication. Secondly, you shouldn't ever substitute prescription drugs no matter how similar. Third, yes the type of urine test they give you is different from the average "run-of-the-mill" drug screens (because you are prescribed opiates) and will differentiate the different opiates. In other words your plan will be exposed. Knew someone who tried to do exactly what you did and got caught. With all due respect - you need help.
