Post Addiction warning!!

To whom is taking narcotic pain medications please be careful. I have been on Oxycontin 5mg and Percocet 5mg/325mg for about a year now. I didn't realize it until is almost too late, I had been taking more of my pain meds than I was prescibed, then last monday I ran out of my pain meds early. I went through 4 days of feeling ************ with really bad restless legs and lack of sleep.

I have learned my lesson the hard way, I went to see my arthritis specialist today and got another script for percocet and oxycontin. This time my wife is gonna hold onto them for me and give me what I need for pain only. So far today I have taken 2 percs and 2 oxycontin so far. I'm off to bed now as I am getting tired.

So to anyone who is on narcotics please be careful and ONLY take only what you are prescribed. I damn near became a full blown addict to these, but by the grace of god I got lucky.

If you take those meds for long enough I don't care if even your wife gives them to you, you're going to build a tolerance and a dependency. It's the drugs, it unavoidable. It will happen regardless of what you do. God bless.

I am looking into acupuncture for pain relief caused by my arthritis. I talked to my arthritis specialist yesterday when I went to see him about it. He said that it covered by most private health plans. My wife works for a grocery store chain here in Canada and she has excellent health benefits through work. I am under her coverage thankfully.

What does the members of this site think about acupuncture?

I had acupuncture done once and it did nothing for about an hour afterward s at which point i had a surge of endorphins which lasted a couple of hours...I had a bruise in 1 of the spots which lasted for over a week. It feels weird-u have to experience it to explain it-it hurts a teeny tiny bit but really i am sure u will be fine.
