Default Zyrtec -- does it help prevent coughing?

Zyrtec is an allergy medication. Does anybody know if it helps prevent coughing also?

It is NOT a cough medicine such as a depressent or expectorant or decongenstent. It could possibly help because it reduces the amount of mucus and inflamation that contribute to cough. My kids and I are allergic. If they have a cough I add a decongestent to the antihistimine.

Our pediatrician gave us a trick for cough. Saline nose spray. You can also wash your sinuses with a netty pot or syringe (no needle).
