Default Zoloft

Hello, I thought I might have anxiety but it wasn't that bad I could still function fine but I decided to try zoloft. I think my anxiety was so low that it could be overcome mentally and I don't think I needed the zoloft as I can hold conversations and not worry too much without it. Anyway I rushed into the zoloft without thinking about it and now have been on it for 3 months. I'm not a heavy drinker but do drink on occassion. Anyway I talked to my doctor about coming off zoloft and she said that it'd be fine as I was only on 50 mg a day she said to take 25mg for 2 weeks and then 25 mg every other day for two weeks. I was wondering if it is safe to stop zoloft like that after three months. I do not want to have weird withdrawls or some sort of depression settle in that I didn't have before taking it. Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm a 22 year old male and I didn't have side effects from the Zoloft. I take adderall which i started 1 month ago and while on adderal i seem to have way less anxiety than any other time in my life. I only take the recommended dose of adderall as needed and it is working great for me.

I think you should follow your doctor’s instructions and gradually taper off Zoloft. By gradually reducing dose you will allow your body slowly adjust as the medication leaves your body. However, tapering is not 100% guarantee for avoidance of withdrawal. Take a look at these links:
