    Smile xanax for insomnia

I can't say enough about how much alprazolam (Xanax) helps me sleep. I have had problems for years sleeping, sometimes only getting 2 or 3 hours a night. I take Ambien 3 times a week, and I take xanax 2 times a week, just before bedtime (O.5MG). Both are wonderful and help me get a full nights sleep. I feel like a different person. I do not take anything during the day as I do not feel anxious or depressed - my sleeping problems all started after I went through menopause. No side affects from either one at all. I tried every natural herb in the book and not one of them helped, a big waste of money.

Could it be that this Xanax-induced deep sleep on some nights deprives me of a deep sleep on other nights ?

Whatever you take for sleep defeats your body's natural ability to sleep when you are not taking any meds. So, whenever you take a pill for sleep, you will end up suffering the consequences when you do not.

Xanax has no noticeable effect on me. None. (OT: Neither does Ativan.) I wonder why.

Please anyone on here who has any advice/help i would appreciate it. I started having severe anxiety/derealization after smoking one time almost a year ago. Its very frusterating bc its not really the mental or emotional issues that are bothering me as much as the physical pain i feel which ive been told by multiple drs. is a symptom of my anxiety. Ive tried Lexapro and had a terrible reaction to it. My psychiatrist had me on xanax twice a day and thats the only thing that has ever made a positive difference. Its the only medication thats helped with my symptoms but now my dr. wants me to get off the xanax bc of its addictive qualities. She wants me to try Pristiq, but i am terrified to be on any antidepressant after my experience with Lexapro. Is there anyone on here who has been on xanax longtime with success???
