| | Withdrawl... Can we say..."Crying, screaming, psycho-*************************?
I sure can, about myself the last few weeks.
Lets take a Readers Digest walk back...
2 weeks ago...family doc decided since I wanted to change to Topomax to take me off of Effexor ER 75mg twice daily and Gabapentin 300 mg 3 X daily.
Week 1...he took me off 1 of the Effexor, and one Gabapentin and added 1 Topomax 25 mg
Last Week...Took me off all Effexor, down to one Gabapentin and up to 2 Topomax 25 mg.
Friday...No Gab...and Topomax 25mg 3X daily
Am I losing my mind.
I saw my psyciatrist yesterday and he went red in the face he was so angry. But, said he didn't want to get involved in something already started. Mind, when I was leaving the office, I heard the secretary saying you want (she was saying my doc's name) on the phone.
I need some feedback, I need to know what else to expect...noone else around me understands...thinks I"m just being moody Now I'm friggin crying again.

| | I would like to thank all those who answered me in the hour of need , in this thread on featured drugs...you know who I'm speaking of...I will mention your names below...
Ok, now that I've mentioned all, I would like to mention, when I didn't get a reply here, I posted in another place and got answers. I was in an awful need. With all the ppl here, and all the post I've read, I thought I could count on some coming to my aid...I was mistaken. I was hurting badly, mentally and physically...now mentally...because I don't know where I can go for answers.

| | I was on Gabapentenin for several years for chronic pain. The first year or two I was okay, but I kept building a tolerance to it and my dose had to be upped. Towards the end I was taking the maxiumum dosage and had a horrible time remembering things, keeping my balance, and mental confusion. When I got off of it, I had to be weaned off for several WEEKS, it was not a matter of days. 900mg a day for Gabapentenin is not a small dose, and it may have been stopped too soon for you. It effects the way your brain works, so stopping it too quickly can cause some emotional problems along with physical symptoms. This may be part of the problem for you.
I'm not familiar with the other drugs you are taking, or were taking, as I have not been on them.
I think you need to find a doctor who not only sees the problem but is willing to intervene for you, instead of just bemoaning the fact that he wasn't included. |

Hope you're through wd by now, check standard non-opioid stuff like Cloinidin or Imodium, they alleviate wds a lot.
As for answers, you were probably jonesing while writing, you say that when you didn't get answers from the selfish and ignorant mothers here you went to other forums and got them there and then you go on saying how much it hurts, mentally, now knowing where to go for answers. May I humbly suggest those other, more responsive forums you mention. |

noticed it was kinda old and nobody but myself was posting...
your shrink got miffed ay? well, I am no eggzpert, but in my experience,
the psychiatrist is the one ultimately with his ???? on the line with the
DEA and various other snoopy governmental swine.
the family doc's 'normally' will only prescribe antianxiety meds for an
initial treatment if you're really bad off, but they like to pass off responsibility
to a psychiatrist asap.
by the way, no need to cry
your family doc likely meant well, but stepped on yon headshrinkers
toes with any major changes. aside from being upset and crying, how do you
feel?
if you don't mind, how come ya wanted off the effexor?
cheers! |
