whats your reaction to ultram 50 mg.

Oh, trust me, I am...script is written to take up to 4/day as needed...but she only gives me 40 at a time, so I take it only at bedtime unless I just can't stand it anymore...I'm on disability, but since I'm not old enough to retire, I have to wait until Sept. 2012 for Medicare coverage..& my disability is just too much to qualify for Medi-Cal. If Medicare will cover it, I'm going to ask for back surgery. I've had neck surgery to fuse some vertebrae, & it was a complete success...I know it's not guaranteed success, but I'm willing to risk it.

I am so sorry for what you must have had to go through. IMO and without knowing more, for a physician to put you cold turkey from fentanyl to tramadol is virtual malpractice.

Much of what is said here is right... tram is a weak medicine for some but does work for others. Each person is different. For me, 100mg was about like a stronger NSAID. I agree with poster above that after a bit I found smaller dose worked just as well if not better. I never had any withdrawals after a couple weeks of use.

On the other hand, my partner, after a dosage of 50mgs one day for back pain, had extreme nausea and hangover effects the following day. Strange drug this.

The 'energy' boost some may report over time may come in part from the mild serotonergic effects of this drug.

Either way, I hope treatment is working for you now whichever way you decided to go.

OMG, now I'm scared of the tramadol....have had to cold turkey from fentanyl patches (we both lost our jobs & insurance, & I'm diabetic) because my new dr. won't prescribe the patches, so she prescribed tramadol instead....sheesh, I can't win for losing, lol
