What is this I read about IMMODIUM!!!

Skimming through some threads I read that you can take Immodium for withdrawl from percocet. How do you do it? How many do you take and do you have to stop the percs altogether? How does it work and why does it work? Any info in appreciated.

I am a new member but have been browsing for months. As PART of a bunch of over the counter meds (google "Thomas Recipe" for details) Immodium helps with the "runs" associated with opiate withdrawal.

Immodium also has some form of narcotic property that affects the intestinal tract, but it doesn't cross the brain/blood barrier, so it doesn't affect your mind in the same way. So that may be why it helps slightly with withdrawals, other than helping with the G.I. tract problems. But having used it for withdrawals, I will say "only slightly" again......

By itself, it will certainly not "cure" withdrawls, but combined with other vitamins and things (like very hot baths for muscle cramps, etc.) one can do an in-home detox with immodium as one of the tools.
