Default Want off Suboxone

Hi. I hope someone can help me. I've been taking Suboxone since February for a Vicodin addiction. I take 12 mg daily (8mg tablets, 1/2 three times daily). Two months ago, my doctor had me cut back to 8 mg daily and I couldn't do it. I lasted about a week but the withdrawels were so bad that I couldn't handle it, so he upped my dose again.

At this rate, I don't feel like I'll ever be off Suboxone. I couldn't even cut back.

Not only are these pills expensive, but I haven't been able to sleep.

Please help.

Ryan

Ryan ... I can help you if you'll work with what I ask you to do. Here is a link for how I base my suggestions. Let me know if you want some help. Read around the forum a little and you'll see this is the way to go. God bless.

I strongly suggest that you take Robert up on his offer and decrease from the very high dose you're on. But first I'd like to suggest something. Ask your doctor to switch you from the suboxone to subutex. When I started with suboxone I couldn't sleep either, was very jittery and generally uncomfortable. When I switched over to subutex the sleep problem went away. Additionally, when I came down to a more reasonable dose, (4 mg. and lower) I felt alot better. With this, less is more.

I read over the info you gave and I want to do it. Can you let me know how to start if I'm taking Sub 3x daily?

First you should be dosing twice a day only. Split your dose in two for a couple days. Get used to taking it like that and then we'll start reducing your dose every four days by 25% depending on how well you do.

This isn't hard. You can do it. Just follow instructions and I promise I'll stick this out with you. God bless.

Robert...you are a gem. Just thought I'd remind you. Have a great week-end.
